Who's buried in Khufu's tomb? Find out in National Geographic's Egypt: Secrets of the Pharaohs, a wide-ranging look at the rituals and relics of one of the first monumental civilizations. Watch as one team of archaeologists braves the arid plains to investigate the construction of the great Pyramid of Khufu.

The four programs from the History Channel in Egypt: Beyond the Pyramids showcase current archaeological work that is changing how historians think about life in ancient Egypt. Some of the greatest temples and tombs of Egypt are visited, and authorities explain the significance of particular aspects of their construction. Efforts to restore temples that had been lost under centuries of sand are shown, and one episode focuses on the discovery of a massive complex of tombs in the Valley of the Kings, which only began to be fully explored in the mid-1990s.

For over 30 years, the National Geographic Society has presented specials on nature, foreign culture, scientific breakthroughs, and things which fall under the general category of "neat stuff." Each special is self-contained.

Spectacular cinematography used in an innovative framework featuring noted actor and native Egyptian Omar Sharif provide a highly entertaining glimpse of ancient Egypt in this documentary from National Geographic. Sharif, playing a grandfather who is explaining the archeological wonders to his inquisitive granddaughter, does a fine job of explaining such puzzles as how the pyramids would have been built and what knowledge their builders must have possessed.

Thought provoking! Do we mean what we say or are they just words? Amazing possibilities if we take to heart what is said and believe. I'm referring to the preacher's sermon on Matthew 25:36. Interesting his reaction later to someone taking to heart what he said. Sadly typical. Walking Across Egypt was like a breath of fresh air or a swim on a hot day in a favorite swimming hole.
